Fed: Forensic officers to probe tent embassy fire

CANBERRA, Aug 17 AAP - Fire broke out at the Aboriginal tent embassy, the ACT fire
brigade said today.

Australian Federal Police forensics officers will today investigate the blaze in a
six-man tent in the area just outside old parliament house in Canberra, which started
around 9pm (AEST) yesterday.

District officer Peter Jeffs said no one was injured in the fire and the residents
were helped by their neighbours.

The tent embassy was set up on Australia Day 1972 to make a statement about land rights.
