QLD:Third flood for Theodore in 13 months

The Dawson River in central Queensland has flooded croplands in the town of Theodore
for the third time in 13 months.

Fortunately no buildings have been inundated .. with the river holding at 12.1 metres
for the last few hours.

Acting Banana Shire Mayor MAUREEN CLANCY says farmers will lose a small part of their
mung bean crops.

Late last year the Dawson River peaked at 14.7 metres causing widespread devastation
to buildings and crops .. destroying the second cotton crop in a row for many farmers.

Earlier in March the river reached about 13.7 metres .. inundating only a few towns
but caused widespread damage to agriculture.
